I was hoping that at last the weather gods had decided to call it quits with this incessant rain. Not quite yet. Hopefully, this week coming up.
Looking on the board all the match plays are up to date with semi finals to be played by 11th April and the finals on 13th of April . I hope many will come up to support the finalists.
We managed to play our home interclub vs Aloha on Wednesday much to Agi’s relief, one less date to rearrange. Aloha brought a strong team, and as it stands; they are leading 7.5 to 4.5. Hopefully, we can turn the result around when we play the away match.
All the match play entries for 2025/26 should be now in with Alicia. On Sunday Michael and Svetlana will be doing the draw – it looks like we have some strong mixed pairs this year.
COMPETITIONS OF THE WEEK
Tuesday 18th March 4 ladies – Pairs
Nicky & Tammy vs Elaine & Rachel No Rachel as she had to rush off.
We had a late tee time to let Borja’s team do some clearing on the course. Monday it was torrential. As a result, we had a lovely round of golf and a mini match play with Tammy and I coming out victorious.
Thursday 20th March 7 Ladies
CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN
We all met up for coffee at 9.30 which is becoming the norm at San Roque to decide whether to play or not. The consensus was no play! This was a shame for Svetlana 2, a new member as it was going to be her first competition. I look forward to playing with her when the weather improves.
COURSE MAINTENANCE
Weeds in the mulch will be sprayed.
A Bermuda Grass treatment for poa will be applied.
Tees will be top-dressed, and greens will be spiked and top- dressed.
Bermuda grass will be fertilized
Bunkers will be raked (not flattened) to aerate the sand.

I am so impressed with the five ladies who turned up for battle in horrible conditions. They started in torrential rain and wind, ending with a hailstorm on the 18th. Unfortunately for Yvonne she 7 putted on the 3rd not realising you can take relief. One more medal to go which is the postponed February one, now on the 5th April.

A very happy birthday to Tina Ducker a past captain, who celebrated her birthday on Sunday. She will hopefully be back playing golf once the buggies are allowed on the course.
