Hola ladies,

Last week, alongside our two roll-ups, we were in full swing preparing for the Men’s Club Championship – and what an exciting weekend it turned out to be!

That weekend the weather was extreme. On Saturday we had an easterly wind – it was very humid, everything felt dampy as if after heavy rain. By Sunday, the wind had shifted and the temperature soared to 40 degrees, though it felt more like 50! Under these tough conditions, the men played their rounds while 14 ladies were there to support them.

In my opinion, Amanda and Rachel had the most challenging task of all – they each spent over seven hours on Saturday and Sunday under the scorching sun recording the results.

Jules and I were busy at the Halfway House, while Debbie R., Tammy, Anne, Nicky, Yvonne, Agi, Ruth, Sussie, and Debbie F. did a great job spotting balls on hole 4. Linda was out and about with her camera taking photos (which you can soon see on the homepage). Thank you ladies – great teamwork! The ladies also had a little wager going. Many thanks to Jules, who organised it brilliantly and sold the tickets both at the club and via WhatsApp.

Stephen had a lovely surprise, he invited all the ladies who helped out to lunch on Sunday. Of course, we were all delighted, and I would like to thank him very much on behalf of everyone.

A big thank-you as well to Alicia and Fatima for their wonderful support and for being with us throughout the weekend!

Congratulations to our new men Club Champions – Philip Fisher (scratch winner) and our Men’s Captain, Michael Keane (net winner)!

🎉👏

A very special thank you to Jon Hale, who, by setting up and managing the San Roque Club Championship Charity, not only ensured a lot of fun and enjoyment for the participants, but also, thanks to the generous donation from the bank and some of the winners, was able to raise an amount of 1,239 EUR to the Captain’s Charity.

Finally, heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part, lent a hand, and contributed to such a fantastic atmosphere. That’s exactly what makes our club so special! 💚⛳
