Hello ladies,
As we step into September, we are still blessed with warm summer temperatures during the day. The days are gradually becoming shorter, and the evenings pleasantly cooler – a perfect setting to sit outside and enjoy the late summer atmosphere.
Last week our Roll-Ups took place, and on Saturday we hosted the 6th Ranking Competition, generously sponsored by Amanda Stanford Abbeygate Insurance.
We extend our sincere thanks for this much-appreciated support.
On Friday, the club held a delightful ‘Farewell to Summer’ event. It was a memorable evening, thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Many thanks to our dear Fatima, the girls from the pro shop, Enrique, and everyone involved for the wonderful organization. A big thank you also to Chef Mirko for the delicious burgers. It was a wonderful evening that we all truly enjoyed.
This week is a very exciting week for me and 20 ladies, we are away on the Lady Captain’s Tour in Gran Canaria. I am very grateful to Anne Middlehurst, who kindly agreed to stand in for me. It will be a regular week at the club with two Midweek Competitions and, on Sunday, the 3-Club Challenge Competition.
MIDWEEK COMPETITION
2nd SEPTEMBER LADIES TUESDAY COMPETITION PLAYED OF 49
This month eight ladies teed off after the men.
The course recovered quickly after maintenance, so we played federated with summer rules.
But then the greens turned lightning fast – and none of us could score!
My group played the front nine not good that we decided to play the back nine for a drink. Suddenly the scores improved! I heard the same from the other groups the ladies all pulled the same trick.
And yet, there was a winner who crushed us with 30 points 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣!

Nine ladies participated on Thursday. The weather was fantastic. On that day, we played a little better than on Tuesday 😉.
Welcome back, Sharon—she played her first round since June really well.
I was also very happy to see Amanda during the week.

WEEKEND COMPETITION
21 ladies took part in the ranking tournament what a fantastic turnout!
The weather was just perfect: cloudy (which was ideal since we didn’t have to start too early) and a little windy, but still very pleasant. I am incredibly proud of my ladies – the results were fantastic.
In 5th place was Liz Desmond with 37 points. Linda Fletcher played 39 points and came 4th. Yvonne also scored 39 points to take 3rd place, and Noelle achieved an excellent 2nd place with 39 points as well.
