These vintage bears are in pristine condition, come with all tags and packaging and are very collectable. They would make a great present for both young and old. If you cannot attend the 9 & Dine this Friday and would like to bid on either or both of the Steiff Bears we would encourage you to send your bids directly to me (ballybunionpatrick@gmail.com) by 12 noon on Friday 26th June. Note we already have bids of €150 for the large Steiff Bear and €50 for the small Steiff Bear so happy bidding. All proceeds will go to Centro Contigo, a fantastic charity in La Linea that supports deprived children.

Cha’s 50th Birthday celebrations 18th June

After Thursday’s rollup the members celebrated a big birthday with Cha and presented her with some gifts from the member and the Club. Cha is someone who makes everyone’s day with her permanent smile and lovely manner and it was wonderful that the membership had an opportunity to recognise her contribution to making the Club so special for all of us.

Cha enjoyed lunch on the Terrace after the presentation and was looked after by 4 new members of SRC bar/restaurant staff as Jezza, David & Kay Tyler and Nicky Triay donning SRC staff shirts and aprons and waited on Cha and her guests. Cha confirmed the new ‘staff’ did such a great job.

La Liga Interclub – SRC V’s La Zagaleta Friday 19th June

SRC welcomed a team from La Zagaleta for the home fixture in the new La Liga interclub competition. The match was played in the right spirit with a great bunch of guys who were hugely complimentary of the welcome they received at SRC, the condition of our course and the quality of the lunch. La Zagaleta definitely brought their A+ game and won 12.5 to 5.5. Its only half time in this fixture and SRC will be seeking revenge in the return match at La Zagaleta on 1st July.

Course Update:

The course is in fantastic shape and looking great. Work this week will include:

  • Inspect control treatment on Agrostis areas
  • Weed control
  • Edging pathways & litter bin areas
  • Replenish fresh mulch
  • Trial installation of new litter bins on Hole 8
