On Thursday, the mixed midweek was played by 26 brave ladies and men. Pip Vincent came 6th with a very respectable 36 points and Debbie Richards had nearest the pin on hole 12.

Old Course Information from the greenkeepers:

All the Bent grass will be sprayed this week, to apply moisturizer and fertilizers that will help us prepare for the maintenance work that will be carried out at the end of the month, when the course is closed 29-30 August. The fairways will also be sprayed this week. Going forward, we will alternate one week treating the fairways and the next week the rough to see if this helps the rough areas to improve their colour and density and be closer to the quality that the fairways already have. We will work around the tee areas to remove the weeds. All the rough was treated this week. This will continue every 15 days until we see if it gives the expected result. The fairways will continue to be treated in the alternate weeks. We have started to cut the edges between the Bermuda and the mulch again. This takes a very long time, so we are looking at new ways to do it so that we can be faster and more efficient. On Thursday we treated the surrounds of the three lakes, applying a granular moisturizer with the intention of improving these areas so that they receive and maintain water better. On Wednesday we did a micro top-dressing on the greens and we did the same for the tees on Thursday. We have improved the area of mulch between the the third tee and the ninth hole by applying a new layer of mulch.
