Staying with the Halloween theme, we presented Los Naranjos with the witches of San Roque last Monday. It was a fantastic match with us being formidable with a 9.5 – 2.5 win. Lets hope we can repeat this next Friday on the beautiful Los Naranjos course.
On Tuesday , 11 Ladies played but alas no birdies – conditions were quite tough out there – getting quite blustery here now with Autumnal vibes.
1st – Debbie Fisher – 38 points
2nd – Christine Taylor – 37 points
3rd – Mandy Holt – 36 points
Another day of rain stopped play on Thursday. 7 of us attempted to play but our Battle was lost and we gave up after 7 holes.
We were absolutely drenched through but the special soup of the day was delicious!!
On Saturday 4 of us (Svetlana, Malene,
Marie-Claire & myself) played at La Canada In the annual charity day , Las Damas. It is
always a fun event – very noisy and the Prize giving goes on forever! We were the San Roque Senoritas and played in 2s with Ladies from El Paraiso – we had a great time and won wine, a meal out and a round at Benalup! We came about mid field but were just 1 point off winning the most elegant Team!!
Saturday was also the monthly ranking sponsored by Abbeygate Insurance. It was a very busy day with 43 men and 21 ladies. Subsequently it proved to be a predictably slow round.
5 Birdies to be awarded:
Tanya Pogiba– hole 9, Helen Seamer – hole 16, Ulla Sallnas – hole 16, Diane Harmer – hole 4,
Mandy Holt – hole 15
1st – Mandy Holt – 38 points
2nd – Heidi Kuhnert – 38 points
3rd – Anne Middlehurst – 36 points
4th – Amanda Stanford – 36 points
Well played to all of you! – its getting close now and all To play for over the next 4 months.
I have just returned from a couple of days at Benalup, with a group of close friends – It was great fun and happy to report Liz Griffiths was the winner of the coveted ‘Cocoon Society Trophy’ – great golf Liz! 72 points over the 2 days!
Don’t forget to sign up for the Ladies V Men on 19th – we MUST win this year Ladies!!
Thank you to Marie-Claire for sending this weeks Cartoon – we will do this if we lose Ladies V Men!!
She also won the raffle this week at the Arts society Flower Arranging morning – well done – a fantastic Christmas swag.- so easy to make!!
Don’t forget it is important to rest up and relax – I am starting to feel a tad over golfed having played 3 days on the trot. My old bones are telling me to take it easy that’s why it is important to stretch and warm up properly before and after playing.
The Poppy Appeal Charity Box is on the Bar. All
contributions very much welcomed for this very good cause.
Please remember the winter deadline of 2pm the day before is now in operation for signing up in all competitions (unless earlier deadline given).
Take it easy….
