So, I have been visiting my daughter and grandchildren this week as I will not see them over Christmas this year. A chance to do some shopping and also some valuable one to one time
with them. I was in Sophia’s good books as I took her to the cinema to see Wish the new Disney film. This was her first cinema visit and pleased to report it was a hit (apart from the scarey bits). The cinema was just slightly different to the ones I went to as a child – very luxurious with reclining leather armchairs – my type of cinema!
Also helped with the Christmas tree – a bit early for my liking but the children loved it – poor kids get such a long build up to Christmas and drive the parents wild by December 24th, Poor Santa must be exhausted by then!
Arrived back today to a drizzly day in San Roque but all the decorations in the club made it
very festive – great job to the housekeeping team. Even all the trophy cabinets are decorated. It all looks beautiful.
Nicky held the fort last week – thank you so much – it is greatly appreciated.
On Tuesday, 14 ladies played.
1st – Anne Middlehurst – 38 points – birdie on the 4th
2nd – Diane Harmer – 35 points – birdie on hole 3
3rd – Ksenia Yamilova – 33 points
Also, Bobby Jons got her first birdie ever on
hole 2 – well done !!!
On Thursday, 8 played on our beautiful course with it being the last day without winter rules. A potential new member, Gabrielle, played and from all accounts plays really well so let us hope she joins – she also birdied the 7th.
1st – Katie Kane – 38 points – birdie on hole 12
2nd – Nicola Triay – 36 points
3rd – Sharon Andersson – 35 points
Well done to Tanya who birdied the 8th!!
On Saturday, with a bitterly cold early start, 16 ladies turned out for the December ranking. Thank you to Amanda Stanford for your continued support with Abbeygate as sponsors of this very popular monthly competition.
1st – Amanda Stanford – 34 points
2nd – Malene Bjorlow – 33 points
3rd – Liz Griffiths – 32 points
4th – Anne Middlehurst – 30 points
On Saturday, the ever popular Christmas Texas Scramble will be held – do sign up by Thursday evening as it will take me a while to prepare the score cards. Don’t forget to dress in your finest Christmas outfits – there will be lots of prizes! I have chosen a meal to get us into the festive mood – please let Alicia know if you are NOT staying for the meal.
Keep warm and snuggly whereever you are and if you are lucky enough to be in sunnier climates – factor 50!! – Linda x
