MEN´S CAPTAIN WEEKLY NEWS

Friday 23 June: Men’s InterClub v La Zagaleta (Home)

A most enjoyable fixture and a big thank you to Stephen Dundas for tolerating my abject putting display and for providing the excellent spread of food at halfway. We had a great game with Carlos Rodiles, who won European Tour Q School here at San Roque back in 2006, and Sadeq Sayeed who was in great form on the back nine. Carlos carded 4 birdies on the front, and it was a privilege to watch him play.
The overall result in the home game was 3 – 3 and we look forward to improving on this when we play The Old Course at La Zagaleta next Friday.
Nearest the Pin on Hole 7: Paul Weigall
Nearest the Pin on Hole 12: Joachim Friedl
Very good wins by Ciaran Lally & Paul Weigall (4 & 3),
Jeremy Sibbons & Patrick O’Sullivan (6 & 5) and Joachim Friedl & Derek Whelan (3 & 1).

Golfing Anecdotes:

They say I get into too many bunkers. But is no problem. I am the best bunker player.”

– Seve Ballesteros

Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates
the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and is without a doubt the
greatest game mankind has ever invented
.”

– Arnold Palmer

Swing it well this week.
