Many thanks to Josh and sponsors Gibfibre for all their work in organising this event.
This was a closely contested encounter which ended in a 5 – 5 result. This means that the Men retain the trophy. Well done to both Teams! On this occasion, to balance the numbers, the Men’s Captain was a late substitute for the Ladies Team. I couldn’t find a skirt big enough to fit, but I did wear pink and I did play from he 60 tees! Thank you to everyone who played.
Old Course: The Bermuda will be treated with microelements and potassium on Wednesday and Thursday. On Monday and Friday the greens and ante-greens will be treated with fertilizer. All week the Team will be dealing with the poa annua.
On Wednesday the greens will get a light tining and a very light top dressing. The Team will also start treating all pine trees against the processionary caterpillar.
Please make sure we maintain a reasonable pace of play at all times. We want to avoid rounds that take over 4.5 hours. We just had a Texas Scramble that took over 5 hours and today I witnessed some rounds with the Juniors on the New Course with three-balls taking over 6 hours. It’s not the way golf should be played!
