MEN'S CAPTAIN WEEKLY NEWS

4 December 2023

The cooler weather with more windy conditions has continued. Whilst the Old Course
remains in excellent condition, we moved to Winter Rules with Preferred Lies from the
beginning of December.

Results from last week:
Monday 27 November: Men’s ACL Match v Villa Padierna (Home)

This was a closely fought encounter with San Roque eventually confirming a home win by the margin of 10 – 8. This takes us to 166 points in the League and a likely final position of 4th. Well done to everyone who has played for the Team this year. It was good to round off my final League fixture as Team Captain with an emphatic 6 & 4 victory with Norman Savitz.
David Steele & Andy Macauley, Ciaran Lally & Francis Payne and David MacGregor & Terry Young also recorded good wins.
I trust everyone enjoyed the chicken curry!
Overall, the League this year has been much closer between all Teams. A few matches still to be played, but it looks like only 16.5 points will separate 5th and 10th place. This must bode well for the future!
